Random Association

Random Association is an idea generation method which allows students to systematically generate new ideas through a fixed formula. The whole premise of Random Association is to use a Random Word to provoke a reaction from the brain.

Here we have a situation/problem to be solved. The problem is How to create a "SCARY IMAGES or OBJECT" that will instill fear among people through out the ages.

The Random word given is KITTEN.

Here are the associate mind map.

Association:

1. Big eyes: Will create a haunting look.

In practice: What might this mean?
It might mean that angry or showing that "I coming."

Association:

2. Sharp Teeth: Will have a fierce look.

In practice: What might this mean?
All fierce animals have sharp teeth (carnivorous) such as lions, tigers in order for them to tear their meat for food. So sharp teeth will create a fear that it is coming for food or bite us.

Association:

3. Fierce look: Any animal that look fierce will automatically trigger scare others.

In practice: What might this mean?
Fierce never fails to scare people. So, having a fierce look will create a impact that might last forever.

Association:
4. Dark: Colours does give the effect. Darker tone gives a stronger effect.

In practice: What might this mean?
Dark colours will have more scarier effect then light and soft colours. So, dark colours combining all the features above will create a SCARY effect.

Here is the results:

Scary Cat.
